Provisional consolidated version of the Declarations to be annexed to the Final Act of the Intergovernmental Conference |
The IGC Secretariat would inform delegations that the following unilateral declaration by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, notified in a letter dated 22 July 2004 from the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the Chairman of the Permanent Representatives Committee, with a copy to the IGC Secretariat, must be added to those included in CIG 86/04 ADD 2
On page 88, after the Declaration by the Kingdom of Spain on the definition of the term "nationals" as added by COR 1, the following unilateral declaration should be inserted:
"Declaration by the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
on the franchise for elections to the European Parliament
The United Kingdom notes that Article I-20 and other provisions of the Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe are not intended to change the basis for the franchise for elections to the European Parliament."
